We’ve had great luck surf fishing with smaller 10-20g jigs, they catch a variety of species such as perch, corbina, croakers and even rays. Shore jigging is a lot of fun due to how easy it is and how active this style of fishing is compared to bait and wait surf, because you’re constantly working the jigs you can also get away with heavier line in the 8-15lb range unlike a traditional carolina rig with sand crabs or ghost shrimp which is limited to 2-6lb for the sight feeders like corbina. Because of the shape and swept fall these also work well bay jigging for spotties or sand bass. These are 18g and about 58mm so they fit right in the range that works best for shore and bay jigging, they also come with 2 BKK assist hooks at the top which prevents the snags when using a treble on the back like most jigs.
